"Poetry with light" is the subtitle or tagline associated with Forever Images. For me, it honestly explains what Forever Images' low key photography stand for. Fascinating low key photography that results in artistically delightful and gorgeous photos. The fact that it’s clearly recognizable as my work, makes that I consider it to be art. Something completely different than a merely visual registration of something observable.
How nice of you to have taken the time to view my Low Key Photos. I love low key photos. They have something (extra) special about them. They are relatively dark (low key) and emphasizes the tension between light and dark. I love the atmosphere and the way they bring out the light. The minimalistic way of visualizing the subject really emphasizes the story the photo is telling. Most of my low key photos are black and white. Eliminating the colors enhances the focus even further. It's really interesting to see. When the few aspects of the photo that are lit are very light, we speak of a high contrast photo. The high contrast makes that the few aspects the photo focuses on come out in a very bright and strong way.
A low key photo, also called a film noir photo, is an overall dark photo with some parts highlighted. They are high contrast photos. The dark parts can be black, other dark tones or shadows. Low key photography is often combined with black and white photography. But al low key photo can perfectly by a color photo. Low key photography is an art form in itself within photography. It’s an art of balancing between dark and light and capturing complexity with simplicity.
