"Poetry with light" is the subtitle or tagline associated with Forever Images. In my opinion it beautifully describes how I look at my work as a wedding photographer. Artistic wedding photography by creating uniquely beautiful and elegant photos. The fact that it’s clearly recognizable as my work, makes that I consider it to be art. Something completely different than a merely visual registration of something observable.

Wedding photography for me is a very special kind of photography. I believe it's an honor to be invited to a wedding, especially when you are asked to capturing (one of) the most beautiful day(s) of someone’s life in camera. It's beautiful to realize that the wedding photos I create will be used to remember the special moments for the rest of someone’s life. To create a great print to hang on a the wall or a beautiful wedding album. If you like to know a bit more, you can find more information about my wedding photography over here. This page show some examples of some wedding photos I created. The way I do wedding photography is, of course, personal even when it’s done on a professional level. B&W photography is my specialty and passion as a professional wedding photographer. Black and white photos offer better possibilities to reveal an underlying layer of a story or feeling. A B&W photo helps the viewer to focus it's attention on, for example, the emotion or expression of the person in the photo. It can make the person in the photo for instance appear more powerful or more vulnerable. To explain this a bit further, I wrote this page to tell you more about my Black and White Photography. To support this explanation, I created this portfolio page of my B&W photos.
This wedding photo has something (extra) special about it. It's a low key photo, also called a film noir photo. It's relatively dark (low key) and emphasizes the tension between light and dark. Here you can find more information on low key photography. I find it interesting how minimalistic a low key photo can be. How it draws you to the bare essence of the photo. How it focuses on the light. Most of my low key photos are black and white. Extracting the color makes these effects even stronger. See if you can see what I mean, here are some of my low key photos. When the few aspects of the photo that are lit are very light, we speak of a high contrast photo. The high contrast makes that the few aspects the photo focuses on come out in a very bright and strong way.
We can do a shoot on anywhere reasonable location. Indoors or outdoors. And of course in my photo studio. My studio is located in The Hague. Easily reachable by car (about 4 minutes from the A12 and A4) and parking right in front of the building. The Hague Central Station is a mere 6 minute walk. Here are some of my studio photos. They give you a good impression of the possibilities.
