Poetry with light

"Poetry with light" is the subtitle or tagline associated with Forever Images. In my eyes this perfectly reflects what I have in mind with my portrait photography. Fascinating portrait photography that results in artistically delightful and gorgeous photos. The uniqueness of my work makes it’s clearly recognizable. For me this is the most essential aspect that makes that I see my work as pieces of art. An artistic interpretation of a visual experience.

How I do portrait photography

To create the portrait photos we are looking for, it is necessary that I understand what you want and that I can explain how we can achieve that. We always start a shoot with an introduction. I think it's important to know who you are and that you have an idea of who I am. Here I describe this in more detail. And on this page you can find an overview of my portrait photos. The way I do portrait photography is, of course, personal even when it’s done on a professional level. If you want to find out more about me and why I love photography and what the basis is from which I work, you can find my story here.

Exquisite Glamour Photo

The meaning of the word "glamour" is perhaps a little less chic from you at first. Glamor means something in the sense of 'pretense', 'fake mesmerizing beauty', 'enchanting charm', 'enchanting appearance', 'glitter', 'splendor', 'artificial brilliance' or 'excessive adornment'. It doesn't come across as real, honest, or authentic at first. But I think a 'touch' of glamor in a photo can add something that doesn't have to take away from the authenticity on which the photo is based. When applied nicely, it can give a portrait photo that little bit extra, for example, which makes it even more special. But above all, glamor naturally goes hand in hand with fashion. They reinforce each other. Fashion quickly increases the glamor level and an extra touch of glamor can underline a fashion statement in a great way. In my opinion, the art with glamor is to nuance it enough to not let it distract from the message you want to convey with the photo. But if the message is glamour, to also know how to get the most out of it. I'm curious if you recognize what I'm writing here when you look at these glamour photos.

This is a beautiful photo in color ...

I really love this portrait photo, Heleen Muchachabiker NDSM Werf portrait photo color 963, in color. It has been given this description: Portrait photo lady on Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636 hands through hair | Heleen Muchachabiker NDSM Werf | Portrait Photographer Michiel Borgart - Forever Images. And contains these tags: portrait photo urbex glamour urban color outside Heleen Muchachabiker NDSM Werf 2020-05-08 FIS20050801 portrait photographer Michiel Borgart Forever Images The Hague. Color photos are in general the preferred way to go. They can be beautifully lively or a great visualization of an atmosphere. But colors can also distract from other details or 'part of the story'. Black and white photos can be a remarkable alternative in some cases. B&W photography is my passion and specialty as a professional portrait photographer. To explain this a bit further, I wrote this page to tell you more about my Black and White Photography. To support this explaination, I created this portfolio page of my B&W photos.

Photo studio Forever Images in The Hague

I like to shoot on location (indoors or outdoors) and in my photo studio. It's located in The Hague. Easily reached by car (about 4 minutes from the A12 and A4) and parking right in front of the building. The Hague Central Station is about a 6 minute walk. Here are some of my studio photos. They give you a good impression of the possibilities.

Urbex is awesome!

The word Urbex is a combination of the English words urban and exploring. It simply means exploring urban area. This is often interpreted as dilapidated buildings that are out of use or places that are not publicly or easily accessible. These places are definitely super cool and produce really great photos. But shooting on these locations is not always easy or even safe. I use a slightly broader interpretation for my shoots than this: a consciously chosen urban or industrial location for the shoot. For me, this can also be a bridge, abandoned parking lot, industrial area or specific part of a city. For me it is important that the location is an explicit part of the photos and thus contributes to a special atmosphere, impressive contrast or unique dynamics. Here are some of my urbex photos. I hope they will inspire you.
