Poetry with light

"Poetry with light" is the subtitle or tagline associated with Forever Images. In my eyes this perfectly reflects what I have in mind with my portrait photography. Artistic portrait photography by creating uniquely beautiful and elegant photos. The fact that it’s clearly recognizable as my work, makes that I consider it to be art. Something completely different than a merely visual registration of something observable.

How I do portrait photography

To create the end result we are looking for, I need to understand how you envision that result. The second thing is that I can clarify how we can are going to get there. To do this in an enjoyable way, it's always best to get to know each other first. Of course there is more to be said about this. You can read more about my portrait photography over here. This page show some examples of my portrait photos. The way I do portrait photography is, of course, personal even when it’s done on a professional level. If you want to find out more about me and why I love photography and what the basis is from which I work, you can find my story here.

Gorgeous Glamour Photo

The meaning of the word "glamour" is perhaps a little less chic from you at first. Glamor means something in the sense of 'pretense', 'fake mesmerizing beauty', 'enchanting charm', 'enchanting appearance', 'glitter', 'splendor', 'artificial brilliance' or 'excessive adornment'. It doesn't come across as real, honest, or authentic at first. But I think a 'touch' of glamor in a photo can add something that doesn't have to take away from the authenticity on which the photo is based. When applied nicely, it can give a portrait photo that little bit extra, for example, which makes it even more special. But above all, glamor naturally goes hand in hand with fashion. They reinforce each other. Fashion quickly increases the glamor level and an extra touch of glamor can underline a fashion statement in a great way. In my opinion, the art with glamor is to nuance it enough to not let it distract from the message you want to convey with the photo. But if the message is glamour, to also know how to get the most out of it. I'm curious if you recognize what I'm writing here when you look at these glamour photos.

This is a beautiful photo in color ...

I really love this portrait photo, Floriana Horta portrait photo color 910, in color. It has been given this description: Portrait photo urbex beautiful lady against dilapidated wall | Floriana Horta | Portrait Photographer Michiel Borgart - Forever Images. And contains these tags: portrait photo glamour urbex color inside Floriana Horta 2019-08-30 FIS19083001 portrait photographer Michiel Borgart Forever Images The Hague. Most portrait photos we see are in color. Color usually attracts more attention and can literally highlight specific details. But for some photos I strongly prefer black and white. B&W photography is my passion and specialty as a professional portrait photographer. I love to tell you more about it and wrote this page about my Black and White Photography. And I also like to share a part of my portfolio of B&W photos with you.

Photo studio Forever Images in The Hague

I like to shoot on location (indoors or outdoors) and in my photo studio. It's located in The Hague. Easily reached by car (about 4 minutes from the A12 and A4) and parking right in front of the building. The Hague Central Station is about a 6 minute walk. Here are some of my studio photos. They give you a good impression of the possibilities.

Urbex is exploration!

The word Urbex is a combination of the English words urban and exploring. It simply means exploring urban area. This is often interpreted as dilapidated buildings that are out of use or places that are not publicly or easily accessible. These places are definitely super cool and produce really great photos. But shooting on these locations is not always easy or even safe. I use a slightly broader interpretation for my shoots than this: a consciously chosen urban or industrial location for the shoot. For me, this can also be a bridge, abandoned parking lot, industrial area or specific part of a city. For me it is important that the location is an explicit part of the photos and thus contributes to a special atmosphere, impressive contrast or unique dynamics. Here are some of my urbex photos. I hope they will inspire you.
