Poetry with light

"Poetry with light" is the subtitle or tagline associated with Forever Images. In my eyes this perfectly reflects what I have in mind with my portrait photography. Artistic portrait photography by creating uniquely beautiful and elegant photos. Because my work is unique and obviously identifiable, I love to see it as art. My photos are more than purely the result of capturing and digitally storing of what we can see.

How I do portrait photography

To create the portrait photos we are looking for, it is necessary that I understand what you want and that I can explain how we can achieve that. We always start a shoot with an introduction. I think it's important to know who you are and that you have an idea of who I am. Here I describe this in more detail. And on this page you can find an overview of my portrait photos. The way I do portrait photography is, of course, personal even when it’s done on a professional level. If you want to find out more about me and why I love photography and what the basis is from which I work, you can find my story here.

Graceful Glamour Photo

Everyone has heard or used the word "glamor" at some point. And everyone has a feel for the meaning of the word. When I looked up the meaning of "glamour", that meaning came across as less stylish to me than I expected. Glamor has been described as 'pretense', 'fake mesmerizing beauty', 'enchanting charm', 'enchanting appearance', 'glitter', 'splendor', 'artificial brilliance' or 'excessive adornment'. It doesn't come across as real, honest, or authentic at first. But a 'touch' of glamor in a photo can, in my view, add something that does not have to crowd out the real thing. When applied subtly, it can give a portrait photo that little bit extra, making it even more unique. But above all, glamor goes great with fashion. They help each other to emerge more powerfully from a photo. Fashion naturally enhances the glamor content and an extra touch of glamor can beautifully bring out the fashion aspect. In my experience, the art with glamor is nuanced enough not to let it dominate, as long as you manage to get the most out of it if the message is glamour. Take a look at some of my glamour photos, do you recognize what I'm describing here?

This is a beautiful photo in color ...

I really love this portrait photo, Mariana Pietersz Miss Avantgarde portrait photo color 337, in color. It has been given this description: Portrait photo model purple green light looking sideways | Mariana Pietersz Miss Avantgarde | Portrait Photographer Michiel Borgart - Forever Images. And contains these tags: portrait photo glamour haute couture color photo studio Mariana Pietersz Miss Avantgarde 2018-10-27 FIS18102701 portrait photographer Michiel Borgart Forever Images The Hague. Color photos are in general the preferred way to go. They can be beautifully lively or a great visualization of an atmosphere. But colors can also distract from other details or 'part of the story'. Black and white photos can be a remarkable alternative in some cases. B&W photography is my passion and specialty as a professional portrait photographer. To explain this a bit further, I wrote this page to tell you more about my Black and White Photography. To support this explaination, I created this portfolio page of my B&W photos.

Photo studio Forever Images in The Hague

Locations of a shoot can vary. I do shoots indoors and outdoors. There is also the possibility to do the shoot in my photo studio. It's located in The Hague. Comfortably reachable by car (about 4 minutes from the A4 and A12) and parking right in front of the building. The train station The Hague CS is about a 6 minute walk. This studio photo is a great example of what we can create together. It gives an impression of what is possible with light and shadow. Here you can find some of my studio photos. This is already nicely reflected in this color photo, but the power of light and shadow can be expressed even beter in a black and white photo.
