Poetry with light

"Poetry with light" is the subtitle or tagline associated with Forever Images. In my eyes this perfectly reflects what I have in mind with my portrait photography. Fascinating portrait photography that results in artistically delightful and gorgeous photos. The fact that it’s clearly recognizable as my work, makes that I consider it to be art. Something completely different than a merely visual registration of something observable.

How I do portrait photography

To create the end result we are looking for, I need to understand how you envision that result. The second thing is that I can clarify how we can are going to get there. To do this in an enjoyable way, it's always best to get to know each other first. Of course there is more to be said about this. You can read more about my portrait photography over here. This page show some examples of my portrait photos. The way I do portrait photography is, of course, personal even when it’s done on a professional level. If you want to find out more about me and why I love photography and what the basis is from which I work, you can find my story here.

Stunning Glamour Photo

Everyone has heard or used the word "glamor" at some point. And everyone has a feel for the meaning of the word. When I looked up the meaning of "glamour", that meaning came across as less stylish to me than I expected. Glamor has been described as 'pretense', 'fake mesmerizing beauty', 'enchanting charm', 'enchanting appearance', 'glitter', 'splendor', 'artificial brilliance' or 'excessive adornment'. It doesn't come across as real, honest, or authentic at first. But a 'touch' of glamor in a photo can, in my view, add something that does not have to crowd out the real thing. When applied subtly, it can give a portrait photo that little bit extra, making it even more unique. But above all, glamor goes great with fashion. They help each other to emerge more powerfully from a photo. Fashion naturally enhances the glamor content and an extra touch of glamor can beautifully bring out the fashion aspect. In my experience, the art with glamor is nuanced enough not to let it dominate, as long as you manage to get the most out of it if the message is glamour. Take a look at some of my glamour photos, do you recognize what I'm describing here?

This is a beautiful photo in color ...

I really love this portrait photo, Isis Vaandrager portrait photo color 288, in color. It has been given this description: Portrait photo young lady looking sideways low key | Isis Vaandrager | Portrait Photographer Michiel Borgart - Forever Images. And contains these tags: portrait photo glamour color low key film noir photo studio Isis Vaandrager 2018-09-02 FIS18090201 portrait photographer Michiel Borgart Forever Images The Hague. Most portrait photos we see are in color. Color usually attracts more attention and can literally highlight specific details. But for some photos I strongly prefer black and white. B&W photography is my passion and specialty as a professional portrait photographer. I love to tell you more about it and wrote this page about my Black and White Photography. And I also like to share a part of my portfolio of B&W photos with you.

Low Key portrait photo

This portrait photo has something (extra) special about it. It's a low key photo. It's relatively dark (low key) and emphasizes the tension between light and dark. I find it interesting how minimalistic a low key photo can be. How it draws you to the bare essence of the photo. How it focuses on the light. Most of my low key photos are black and white. Extracting the color makes these effects even stronger. See if you can see what I mean, here are some of my low key photos. When the few aspects of the photo that are lit are very light, we speak of a high contrast photo. The high contrast makes that the few aspects the photo focuses on come out in a very bright and strong way.

Photo studio Forever Images in The Hague

We can do a shoot on anywhere reasonable location. Indoors or outdoors. And of course in my photo studio. My studio is located in The Hague. Easily reachable by car (about 4 minutes from the A12 and A4) and parking right in front of the building. The Hague Central Station is a mere 6 minute walk. This studio photo is a great example of what we can create together. It gives an impression of what is possible with light and shadow. Here you can find some of my studio photos. This is already nicely reflected in this color photo, but the power of light and shadow can be expressed even beter in a black and white photo.
