Poetry with light

"Poetry with light" is the subtitle or tagline associated with Forever Images. In my opinion it beautifully describes how I look at my work as a portrait photographer. Artistic portrait photography by creating uniquely beautiful and elegant photos. Because my work is unique and obviously identifiable, I love to see it as art. My photos are more than purely the result of capturing and digitally storing of what we can see.

How I do portrait photography

To create the end result we are looking for, I need to understand how you envision that result. The second thing is that I can clarify how we can are going to get there. To do this in an enjoyable way, it's always best to get to know each other first. Of course there is more to be said about this. You can read more about my portrait photography over here. This page show some examples of my portrait photos. The way I do portrait photography is, of course, personal even when it’s done on a professional level. If you want to find out more about me and why I love photography and what the basis is from which I work, you can find my story here.

Elegant Glamour Photo

Everyone has heard or used the word "glamor" at some point. And everyone has a feel for the meaning of the word. When I looked up the meaning of "glamour", that meaning came across as less stylish to me than I expected. Glamor has been described as 'pretense', 'fake mesmerizing beauty', 'enchanting charm', 'enchanting appearance', 'glitter', 'splendor', 'artificial brilliance' or 'excessive adornment'. It doesn't come across as real, honest, or authentic at first. But a 'touch' of glamor in a photo can, in my view, add something that does not have to crowd out the real thing. When applied subtly, it can give a portrait photo that little bit extra, making it even more unique. But above all, glamor goes great with fashion. They help each other to emerge more powerfully from a photo. Fashion naturally enhances the glamor content and an extra touch of glamor can beautifully bring out the fashion aspect. In my experience, the art with glamor is nuanced enough not to let it dominate, as long as you manage to get the most out of it if the message is glamour. Take a look at some of my glamour photos, do you recognize what I'm describing here?

Astounding Black and White photo

I really love this B&W photo, Daphna Akkermans Amsterdam IJburg Enneus Heermabrug portrait photo black and white bnw 702. It has been given this description: black and white B&W portrait photo railway | Daphna Akkermans Amsterdam IJburg Enneus Heermabrug | Portrait Photographer Michiel Borgart - Forever Images. And contains these tags: portrait photo glamour urbex black and white bnw outside Daphna Akkermans Amsterdam IJburg Enneus Heermabrug 2019-06-22 FIS19062201 portrait photographer Michiel Borgart Forever Images The Hague. B&W photography is my specialty and passion as a professional portrait photographer. Black and white emphasizes the essence of the photo. It draws you more to certain lines and dynamics in the photo. The photo raises more and different questions. Questions such as "what is she thinking about?" or "what's happening?". I love to tell you more about this and wrote this page about my Black and White Photography. And I also like to share a part of my portfolio of B&W photos with you.

Photo studio Forever Images in The Hague

We can do a shoot on anywhere reasonable location. Indoors or outdoors. And of course in my photo studio. My studio is located in The Hague. Easily reachable by car (about 4 minutes from the A12 and A4) and parking right in front of the building. The Hague Central Station is a mere 6 minute walk. Here are some of my studio photos. They give you a good impression of the possibilities.

Urbex is magnificent!

The word Urbex is a combination of the English words urban and exploring. It simply means exploring urban area. This is often interpreted as dilapidated buildings that are out of use or places that are not publicly or easily accessible. These places are definitely super cool and produce really great photos. But shooting on these locations is not always easy or even safe. I use a slightly broader interpretation for my shoots than this: a consciously chosen urban or industrial location for the shoot. For me, this can also be a bridge, abandoned parking lot, industrial area or specific part of a city. For me it is important that the location is an explicit part of the photos and thus contributes to a special atmosphere, impressive contrast or unique dynamics. Here are some of my urbex photos. I hope they will inspire you.
