"Poetry with light" is the subtitle or tagline associated with Forever Images. In my opinion it beautifully describes how I look at my work as a portrait photographer. Delicate portrait photography artistically leading to impressive and exquisite photos. The uniqueness of my work makes it’s clearly recognizable. For me this is the most essential aspect that makes that I see my work as pieces of art. An artistic interpretation of a visual experience.

Everyone has heard or used the word "glamor" at some point. And everyone has a feel for the meaning of the word. When I looked up the meaning of "glamour", that meaning came across as less stylish to me than I expected. Glamor has been described as 'pretense', 'fake mesmerizing beauty', 'enchanting charm', 'enchanting appearance', 'glitter', 'splendor', 'artificial brilliance' or 'excessive adornment'. It doesn't come across as real, honest, or authentic at first. But a 'touch' of glamor in a photo can, in my view, add something that does not have to crowd out the real thing. When applied subtly, it can give a portrait photo that little bit extra, making it even more unique. But above all, glamor goes great with fashion. They help each other to emerge more powerfully from a photo. Fashion naturally enhances the glamor content and an extra touch of glamor can beautifully bring out the fashion aspect. In my experience, the art with glamor is nuanced enough not to let it dominate, as long as you manage to get the most out of it if the message is glamour. Take a look at some of my glamour photos, do you recognize what I'm describing here?

B&W photography is my specialty and passion as a professional portrait photographer. Black and white photos offer better possibilities to reveal an underlying layer of a story or feeling. A B&W photo helps the viewer to focus it's attention on, for example, the emotion or expression of the person in the photo. It can make the person in the photo for instance appear more powerful or more vulnerable. To explain this a bit further, I wrote this page to tell you more about my Black and White Photography. To support this explanation, I created this portfolio page of my B&W photos.
This portrait photo has something (extra) special about it. It's a low key photo, also called a film noir photo. It's relatively dark (low key) and emphasizes the tension between light and dark. Here you can find more information on low key photography. I love the atmosphere and the way it brings out the light. Sometimes subtle, sometimes strong. Because there are fewer aspects of the photo lit out, it focuses more strongly on those aspects which are. Most of my low key photos are black and white. That can emphasize even more on the tension between light and dark and become even more minimalistic. Check out a couple of my low key photos. When the few aspects of the photo that are lit are very light, we speak of a high contrast photo. The high contrast makes that the few aspects the photo focuses on come out in a very bright and strong way.
Locations of a shoot can vary. I do shoots indoors and outdoors. There is also the possibility to do the shoot in my photo studio. It's located in The Hague. Comfortably reachable by car (about 4 minutes from the A4 and A12) and parking right in front of the building. The train station The Hague CS is about a 6 minute walk. This studio photo is a great example of what we can create together. It gives an impression of what is possible with light and shadow. Here you can find some of my studio photos. This is already nicely reflected in this color photo, but the power of light and shadow can be expressed even beter in a black and white photo.
