Poetry with light

"Poetry with light" is the subtitle or tagline associated with Forever Images. In my eyes this perfectly reflects what I have in mind with my portrait photography. Delicate portrait photography artistically leading to impressive and exquisite photos. The uniqueness of my work makes it’s clearly recognizable. For me this is the most essential aspect that makes that I see my work as pieces of art. An artistic interpretation of a visual experience.

How I do portrait photography

To create the portrait photos we are looking for, it is necessary that I understand what you want and that I can explain how we can achieve that. We always start a shoot with an introduction. I think it's important to know who you are and that you have an idea of who I am. Here I describe this in more detail. And on this page you can find an overview of my portrait photos. The way I do portrait photography is, of course, personal even when it’s done on a professional level. If you want to find out more about me and why I love photography and what the basis is from which I work, you can find my story here.

Graceful Glamour Photo

The meaning of the word "glamour" is perhaps a little less chic from you at first. Glamor means something in the sense of 'pretense', 'fake mesmerizing beauty', 'enchanting charm', 'enchanting appearance', 'glitter', 'splendor', 'artificial brilliance' or 'excessive adornment'. It doesn't come across as real, honest, or authentic at first. But I think a 'touch' of glamor in a photo can add something that doesn't have to take away from the authenticity on which the photo is based. When applied nicely, it can give a portrait photo that little bit extra, for example, which makes it even more special. But above all, glamor naturally goes hand in hand with fashion. They reinforce each other. Fashion quickly increases the glamor level and an extra touch of glamor can underline a fashion statement in a great way. In my opinion, the art with glamor is to nuance it enough to not let it distract from the message you want to convey with the photo. But if the message is glamour, to also know how to get the most out of it. I'm curious if you recognize what I'm writing here when you look at these glamour photos.

Magnificent Black and White photo

I really love this B&W photo, Arfa portrait photo black and white bnw 1166. It has been given this description: Portrait photo black and white B&W low-key selective color young lady smelling a rose | Arfa | Portrait Photographer Michiel Borgart - Forever Images. And contains these tags: portrait photo glamour portfolio black and white bnw selective color low key film noir photo studio Arfa 2021-10-22 FIS21102201 portrait photographer Michiel Borgart Forever Images The Hague. B&W photography is my specialty and passion as a professional portrait photographer. Black and white photos can bring out a certain essence in a unique way. They often have a timeless character. More often than with color photos, you’ll never get bored by them and they can have the effect of being seen for the first time each time you lay your eyes on them. There's a lot to say about it and wrote this page to tell you a bit more about my Black and White Photography. To show you what I mean, I created this overview of my B&W photos.

Low Key portrait photo

This portrait photo has something (extra) special about it. It's a low key photo, also called a film noir photo. It's relatively dark (low key) and emphasizes the tension between light and dark. Here you can find more information on low key photography. I find it interesting how minimalistic a low key photo can be. How it draws you to the bare essence of the photo. How it focuses on the light. Most of my low key photos are black and white. Extracting the color makes these effects even stronger. See if you can see what I mean, here are some of my low key photos. When the few aspects of the photo that are lit are very light, we speak of a high contrast photo. The high contrast makes that the few aspects the photo focuses on come out in a very bright and strong way.

Selective Color portrait photo

Selective color, also called color pop, is an effect that highlights a selection of color(s) or (a) colored object(s) in an otherwise black and white image or strongly desaturated photo. This makes the selected color or object really pop out. This effect can be used for artistic reasons or to tune down a otherwise overwhelming photo. Is strongly leads the focus of the viewer to the chosen selection and creates a strong dynamic in the photo. Here you will find more of my selective color photos.

Photo studio Forever Images in The Hague

I like to shoot on location (indoors or outdoors) and in my photo studio. It's located in The Hague. Easily reached by car (about 4 minutes from the A12 and A4) and parking right in front of the building. The Hague Central Station is about a 6 minute walk. This studio photo is a great example of what we can create together. It gives an impression of what is possible with light and shadow. Here you can find some of my studio photos. This is already nicely reflected in this color photo, but the power of light and shadow can be expressed even beter in a black and white photo.
