Poetry with light

"Poetry with light" is the subtitle or tagline associated with Forever Images. In my eyes this perfectly reflects what I have in mind with my portrait photography. Artistic portrait photography by creating uniquely beautiful and elegant photos. The fact that it’s clearly recognizable as my work, makes that I consider it to be art. Something completely different than a merely visual registration of something observable.

How I do portrait photography

To create the end result we are looking for, I need to understand how you envision that result. The second thing is that I can clarify how we can are going to get there. To do this in an enjoyable way, it's always best to get to know each other first. Of course there is more to be said about this. You can read more about my portrait photography over here. This page show some examples of my portrait photos. The way I do portrait photography is, of course, personal even when it’s done on a professional level. If you want to find out more about me and why I love photography and what the basis is from which I work, you can find my story here.

Gorgeous Glamour Photo

When you hear the word "glamour" what comes to your mind? I looked it up and the meaning for me was different than I expected. I wasn't totally surprised but it was different. It means something in the sense of 'pretense', 'fake mesmerizing beauty', 'enchanting charm', 'enchanting appearance', 'glitter', 'splendor', 'artificial brilliance' or 'excessive adornment'. It may initially come across as misleading or made up. But I don't think a touch of glamor has to diminish the sheer intention on which the photo is based. When applied appropriately, it can, for example, give a portrait photo that little bit of extras that makes it even more special. But glamor really comes to live in combination with fashion photography. They intensify each other in a great way. Fashion beautifully brings out the glamor level and the glamor helps to get the best out of a fashion shoot. The secret of glamor in my opinion is to apply it in a balanced way and to keep it in line with what you have in mind with the shoot. And if the shoot is all about the glamour, go all out! Here you will find some of my most beautiful glamour photos.

This is a beautiful photo in color ...

I really love this portrait photo, Mariangel Dolorita Haarlem portrait photo color 672, in color. It has been given this description: Portrait photo through fence looking into camera | Mariangel Dolorita Haarlem | Portrait Photographer Michiel Borgart - Forever Images. And contains these tags: portrait photo glamour urbex portfolio color outside Mariangel Dolorita Haarlem 2019-06-16 FIS19061601 portrait photographer Michiel Borgart Forever Images The Hague. Color photos are in general the preferred way to go. They can be beautifully lively or a great visualization of an atmosphere. But colors can also distract from other details or 'part of the story'. Black and white photos can be a remarkable alternative in some cases. B&W photography is my passion and specialty as a professional portrait photographer. To explain this a bit further, I wrote this page to tell you more about my Black and White Photography. To support this explaination, I created this portfolio page of my B&W photos.

Photo studio Forever Images in The Hague

We can do a shoot on anywhere reasonable location. Indoors or outdoors. And of course in my photo studio. My studio is located in The Hague. Easily reachable by car (about 4 minutes from the A12 and A4) and parking right in front of the building. The Hague Central Station is a mere 6 minute walk. Here are some of my studio photos. They give you a good impression of the possibilities.

Urbex is awesome!

The word Urbex is a combination of the English words urban and exploring. It simply means exploring urban area. This is often interpreted as dilapidated buildings that are out of use or places that are not publicly or easily accessible. These places are definitely super cool and produce really great photos. But shooting on these locations is not always easy or even safe. I use a slightly broader interpretation for my shoots than this: a consciously chosen urban or industrial location for the shoot. For me, this can also be a bridge, abandoned parking lot, industrial area or specific part of a city. For me it is important that the location is an explicit part of the photos and thus contributes to a special atmosphere, impressive contrast or unique dynamics. Here are some of my urbex photos. I hope they will inspire you.
