Poetry with light

"Poetry with light" is the subtitle or tagline associated with Forever Images. For me, it honestly explains what Forever Images' portrait photography stand for. Artistic portrait photography by creating uniquely beautiful and elegant photos. The uniqueness of my work makes it’s clearly recognizable. For me this is the most essential aspect that makes that I see my work as pieces of art. An artistic interpretation of a visual experience.

How I do portrait photography

The first step is an introduction. Who are you and who am I. Then we are going to discuss what the portrait photos should look like. After this it's up to me to describe and show you how we are going to create your photos. There is, of course, more to this story. If you like to know a bit more, you can find more information about my portrait photography over here. For examples of my portrait photos, please check out this page. The way I do portrait photography is, of course, personal even when it’s done on a professional level. If you want to find out more about me and why I love photography and what the basis is from which I work, you can find my story here.

Stunning Glamour Photo

Everyone has heard or used the word "glamor" at some point. And everyone has a feel for the meaning of the word. When I looked up the meaning of "glamour", that meaning came across as less stylish to me than I expected. Glamor has been described as 'pretense', 'fake mesmerizing beauty', 'enchanting charm', 'enchanting appearance', 'glitter', 'splendor', 'artificial brilliance' or 'excessive adornment'. It doesn't come across as real, honest, or authentic at first. But a 'touch' of glamor in a photo can, in my view, add something that does not have to crowd out the real thing. When applied subtly, it can give a portrait photo that little bit extra, making it even more unique. But above all, glamor goes great with fashion. They help each other to emerge more powerfully from a photo. Fashion naturally enhances the glamor content and an extra touch of glamor can beautifully bring out the fashion aspect. In my experience, the art with glamor is nuanced enough not to let it dominate, as long as you manage to get the most out of it if the message is glamour. Take a look at some of my glamour photos, do you recognize what I'm describing here?

This is a beautiful photo in color ...

I really love this portrait photo, Arfa portrait photo color 1167, in color. It has been given this description: Portrait photo low key young lady wearing black turtleneck sunglasses beret and gloves | Arfa | Portrait Photographer Michiel Borgart - Forever Images. And contains these tags: portrait photo glamour portfolio color low key film noir photo studio Arfa 2021-10-22 FIS21102201 portrait photographer Michiel Borgart Forever Images The Hague. Color photos are in general the preferred way to go. They can be beautifully lively or a great visualization of an atmosphere. But colors can also distract from other details or 'part of the story'. Black and white photos can be a remarkable alternative in some cases. B&W photography is my passion and specialty as a professional portrait photographer. To explain this a bit further, I wrote this page to tell you more about my Black and White Photography. To support this explaination, I created this portfolio page of my B&W photos.

Low Key portrait photo

This portrait photo has something (extra) special about it. It's a low key photo, also called a film noir photo. It's relatively dark (low key) and emphasizes the tension between light and dark. Here you can find more information on low key photography. I love the atmosphere and the way it brings out the light. Sometimes subtle, sometimes strong. Because there are fewer aspects of the photo lit out, it focuses more strongly on those aspects which are. Most of my low key photos are black and white. That can emphasize even more on the tension between light and dark and become even more minimalistic. Check out a couple of my low key photos. When the few aspects of the photo that are lit are very light, we speak of a high contrast photo. The high contrast makes that the few aspects the photo focuses on come out in a very bright and strong way.

Photo studio Forever Images in The Hague

Locations of a shoot can vary. I do shoots indoors and outdoors. There is also the possibility to do the shoot in my photo studio. It's located in The Hague. Comfortably reachable by car (about 4 minutes from the A4 and A12) and parking right in front of the building. The train station The Hague CS is about a 6 minute walk. This studio photo is a great example of what we can create together. It gives an impression of what is possible with light and shadow. Here you can find some of my studio photos. This is already nicely reflected in this color photo, but the power of light and shadow can be expressed even beter in a black and white photo.
