Poetry with light

"Poetry with light" is the subtitle or tagline associated with Forever Images. In my eyes this perfectly reflects what I have in mind with my portrait photography. Delicate portrait photography artistically leading to impressive and exquisite photos. Because my work is unique and obviously identifiable, I love to see it as art. My photos are more than purely the result of capturing and digitally storing of what we can see.

How I do portrait photography

To create the portrait photos we are looking for, it is necessary that I understand what you want and that I can explain how we can achieve that. We always start a shoot with an introduction. I think it's important to know who you are and that you have an idea of who I am. Here I describe this in more detail. And on this page you can find an overview of my portrait photos. The way I do portrait photography is, of course, personal even when it’s done on a professional level. If you want to find out more about me and why I love photography and what the basis is from which I work, you can find my story here.

Astounding Black and White photo

I really love this B&W photo, Porscha Luna de Jong Happyhappyjoyjoy portrait photo black and white bnw 1108. It has been given this description: Portrait photo black and white sepia love shoot young couple | Porscha Luna de Jong Happyhappyjoyjoy | Portrait Photographer Michiel Borgart - Forever Images. And contains these tags: portrait photo black and white bnw sepia low key film noir outside Porscha Luna de Jong Happyhappyjoyjoy 2020-05-23 FIS20052301 portrait photographer Michiel Borgart Forever Images The Hague. B&W photography is my specialty and passion as a professional portrait photographer. Black and white photos offer better possibilities to reveal an underlying layer of a story or feeling. A B&W photo helps the viewer to focus it's attention on, for example, the emotion or expression of the person in the photo. It can make the person in the photo for instance appear more powerful or more vulnerable. To explain this a bit further, I wrote this page to tell you more about my Black and White Photography. To support this explanation, I created this portfolio page of my B&W photos.

Low Key portrait photo

This portrait photo has something (extra) special about it. It's a low key photo, also called a film noir photo. It's relatively dark (low key) and emphasizes the tension between light and dark. Here you can find more information on low key photography. I find it interesting how minimalistic a low key photo can be. How it draws you to the bare essence of the photo. How it focuses on the light. Most of my low key photos are black and white. Extracting the color makes these effects even stronger. See if you can see what I mean, here are some of my low key photos. When the few aspects of the photo that are lit are very light, we speak of a high contrast photo. The high contrast makes that the few aspects the photo focuses on come out in a very bright and strong way.

Sepia portrait photo

Sepia photos are named after the brown-gray discoloration of the photo. The word sepia is used for this because the brown-gray color is named after the brown pigment that used to be extracted from the ink sac of the cuttlefish. The word sepia means "cuttlefish" in Greek. This discoloration occurs in analog photos as they age. With digital photos, this effect is added to a photo using software. It gives the photo a warm and vintage look. This effect can be applied to both color and black and white photos. But it looks best with a black and white photo. An additional effect that works well with sepia is making the photo more grainy. This enhances the vintage look. Here you will find more of my sepia photos.

Photo studio Forever Images in The Hague

We can do a shoot on anywhere reasonable location. Indoors or outdoors. And of course in my photo studio. My studio is located in The Hague. Easily reachable by car (about 4 minutes from the A12 and A4) and parking right in front of the building. The Hague Central Station is a mere 6 minute walk. Here are some of my studio photos. They give you a good impression of the possibilities.
